Filming the Main task

We have started the filming for the main task today. After uploading and starting to look at the establishing shots by Josh and Paul, we are starting to film and put together the main plot shots. Then we managed tofind and persuade some people to become our actors and actresses, and decided who to cast in what roles, and began filming. We wanted to use shots that would enforce the girls social status over the geek, we feel that we have found these shots. We decided to use point of view shots from Melissa (the geek girl) to show her dominance over the geek boy. We also used long shots to show the isolation of the geeks from other social groups. the shots are in contrast to each other to show the difference of the two social classes, but then we use POV shots to show the intimacy of the two later on in the film. It may have taken a long time for the final cuts to be decided and everything finalised, but we think we have the right shots and the correct amount of takes for the film to be completed to the necessary standard.

Starting filming Main task

Ross and Will here today. Josh and Paul have gone to start filming some establishing shots and panning shots for the start of the film. We needed to start today and get the least important parts out of the way. We have been scouting around the school to find locations in the limited space available. We found a couple of places that could be to our use, so hopefully we can get in there and filming as soon as possible. We watched the starts of a few films to see what the shots needed to be like at the start, generally to set the scene and see the surroundings. watched mission:impossible and a few others, and we thought the best thing to do was show all of the building and setting where it would be staged. We then researched on a few other films, like tomb raider, and noted the shots used in there, and will try and incorporate them into our film. The most common ones that we found were close ups, mid shots, panning and establishing shots. e will now try and get these to work with our production.

Reasearch for Main task

Hi again. Just jotted some ideas down for main task. We have been researching on the internet, by watchig the openiungs and trailers of Romcomsand watching films to help us with our ideas for the film. We watched Knocked up to get ideas for the beginningstoryline and the end of a romcom film. We also watched Brian goes to Prom, a film made by some people at this school, to get thoughts and plots going, and to compare our ideas to somebody that had been in the same situatiuon as us. As well as these two films, we watched heartbreak kid. this was to see the use of dialogue and camera shots and transitions to include in our film. We wrote down all the things we needed to get for our film, and then went to see available people and locations for it. The best place we thought we could use was school, so will have work around others to make it happen. Will start filming as soon as weve finalised every detail. Should be started soon.
